Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shelter We bought ours over 6 years ago and we now need a new cover. The good old HOT California sun has ruined it. The year we bought ours the neighbors good a different brand at the same time and they are now on their 3 cover and we are just needing to replace the original.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shelter logic car port I have had this garage up for over 8 years with no maintenance other then keeping heavy snow off it and it's held up GREAT. granted I do need a new tarp cause it's warn through a little here and there over time but overall it has been well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delighted with this product! Only has 1 zipper door; I did think it would have two, but we were able to keep the back piece off and use the back as a run in for the animals! Very pleased! Definitely recommend; plan to purchase another in a month or two!! Thank you ShelterLogic for a quality product, I am delighted to say, I am very pleased :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good design I've had this for 14 months and it went through a pretty rough winter with no issues. It sits in the sun most of the day as there are no trees over it so it does get extremely hot inside during the summer. I leave the door open most times so never rigged up the roll-up system that is provided. It needs to be well anchored as it is big enough to be a sail. I knew this from experience with other garages. It tends to let the snow slide right off without needing to chase it with a broom. Only disappointment is the lifespan of the cover as the other Garage-In-A-Box I have lasted much better (frame design is better on the Garage-In-A-Box SUV however). The cover just split after a heavy rain (no wind) the other day. My only complaint so far.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 12 x 20 - Cover does not last I have had this for a little over 3 years now. I like the strength of the frame and how the unit looks. It was pretty easy to assemble. The cover lasted maybe 1 1/2 years before it started to break down leaving white dust all over everything stored inside. The top then started ripping until it was totally torn. I bought a large tarp and put that over the unit and that lasted about as long as the original. The lift system for the door was a pain as the rope keeps getting caught in the rollers, the bars on the bottom of the door do not stay together either. This would be a good unit if the cover would last longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cover does not last I bought this and it lasted less than 2 years, it split in half down the middle. I have been using tarps over it which have lasted longer than the one it came with. Waste of my money for this.

Q&A

What is the warranty on the cover? I think it's 1 year and I bought mine in June of 2015. I just noticed yesterday that the cover has splits in 4 plcs along the ridge. Nothing eve hit it but it is in the bright sun all day. Is it normal to last 14 months?

Asked by: David B
Hi David, The warranty on our Garage in a Box SUV is 1 year from the date of purchase. Life expectancy can vary depend on application, location and the physical elements. We do have heavier covers available. Please call us at 1800-932-9344 and we would be happy to discuss this further. Thank you

A list of companies that assemble the Garage-In-A-Box.

Asked by: JOHN77
If you have two people that are reasonably competent at following directions, and a 6 foot ladder, it is not bad to assemble. My son and I did it, last June, in less than four hours even with putting the cover on reversed the first time (eyelets toward the door is correct). The only thing heavy is the cover. Video also on YouTube.

How is this garage in a box rated for snow load? Also how is the 12x20x8 garage in a box rated for snow load

Asked by: Bolson
While ShelterLogic may not snow load rate the product, I live in the northeast US and the shape of the structure does not let large amounts of snow accumulate on the cover. Unless it is really wet snow, it tends to fall right off. The wet snow seems to only stay on the very top but as soon as the sun comes out, the greenhouse effect heats the inside enough to make that drop off the peak as well.

Does model 62693 come with internal ratchet straps for tightening outer shell periodically

Asked by: Churchill13
The cover on this Shelter is attached by sliding cover rail pipes through a heat sealed pocket at the bottom of the cover. There are also two ratchets in each corner of the Shelter that are used to tighten the doors and cover. These ratchets are attached to the four corner legs of the shelter.
