Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again...and did. This is my second Quik Shade Canopy (same model, same color even), and my third canopy in about 12 years. It may even be my third Quik Shade, but I can't remember if the first canopy I owned was this brand; it was certainly similar in terms of build quality and price (it died in a wind storm). I bought this one on sale today because my current canopy is starting to show some wear. After setting it up in my driveway, I put it back in the box and into the closet, which is where it will stay until my current canopy dies. My current canopy is at least 4 years old, and the two seem pretty much identical: frame, top, hardware, bag, and stitching seem the same with two small exceptions. First, there are no velcro strips sewn into the canopy to hold it ot the frame along the sides and top. (It still has the velcro at the corners). This did not seem to make any difference in terms of set up or takedown, and I can't imagine that it will make any difference in terms of use. Second, the little black pushers that keep your fingers from getting pinched when taking the legs down are made of warm butter instead of hard plastic. They do perform their job, however. I use my canopy to cover my pit at the racetrack. Four to five times a year, rain or shine, for up to 48 hours at a time, this thing keeps the sun and rain off my head. I use ratchet straps over the corner of the frame to anchor it down, and I hang all kinds of stuff off the frame, including tarps (as walls), small fans, lights, and racing suits. It has stood up to pouring rain (as long as you continue to push the water out of the canopy), as well as hours of light to moderate rain while keeping us mostly dry (wind still drives rain under it). Four years later no mold, tears, no rust, no failures. Could I spend $600+ on a super high end canopy? Sure, but why? I probably won't be racing in thirty years, and at the rate of one canopy every five to six years, I'll only have spent half that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very handy Bought this same item about 5 yrs ago, Use it when hunting and covering items around the house during light rain. You have to remember this item is for shade. I always tie it down and have only had a problem when it snowed! that was my fault. Went and bought another one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use Weights Lightweight and easy to set up, but the best thing is the availability and low price of spare parts. Left mine out in a windstorm, it got picked up, bounced off the roof, landed in a tree, and for about $40 I repaired the whole thing and it's back in use. Tied down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it but hard to find replacement canopy I have had this canopy for a year, second summer. I use it over my garden when temperatures are over 100 degrees, which is usually at least 30 days out of our year. Halfway through this season I need to replace my 8 x 8 canopy and having difficulty finding one. I expected to have to replace it do to the intense sun we have, but geez, make it easier to replace...and cheaper, please.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Two did the same thing I bought my 1st one and it was great the first few weeks. Even had weights on it for wind. The velcro pulled from canvas and made a hole, then kept ripping in even slight wind. I saved the frame in hopes to get a replacement canopy...no luck. Sadly had to purchase a different maker for the outside gatherings. Bought another the new spring season and same happened!! So now I have two stands and no canapes. Now looking I suppose for canvas maybe. Big back yard and need some cover. I wish I could give a 5 star but after two tries and fails I will have to give fair rating. It looked great and we easy to set up otherwise. Plenty of people asked where we got.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from shade tech 10 x10 would not recommend this product had it for 2 weeks first rain storm with no wind and it totaled it waste of money .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't get what you pay for. Very cheaply made for the price paid. Used only a couple of times. Canopy fit well at first but stretches out after some time in the sun, because of this even moderate rain it created a pocket. Filled with rain and bent the frame. It can be repaired easy enough if replacement parts are available but good luck trying to find them. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheaply made Was given as a gift for Christmas and finally used yesterday at a track meet. After being up for only an hour, the wind came and flipped it over, bending the leg which then snapped right off as we tried to get the canopy up again. I can't believe it is so cheaply made, but with a large price tag. The bottom of the metal pole just snapped right off when I picked it up. The canopy next to ours (different brand and company) was blown over later in the day, but was set back up with no damage.

I need two upper legs replaced for a Shade Tech frame type 157514. Would you please send me a pats list. Also, is there a way to secure the sides of the canopy to the frame to prevent it from flapping ? Thanks

Asked by: chollis3
Hello, Certainly! We have emailed you a copy of your parts list. Adding more Velcro might help with this situation but we do not recommend leaving your canopy up on windy days.

Just bought a ShadetechII 8x10. What is the purpose of the black plastic tabs located at the bottom of each of the truss sliders? They are rather semi-circular and slightly dished. No picture or mention of them in the instructions, nor on this site.

Asked by: Ohioan
Hello, The tab is a lever which is used to depress the spring pin when taking down the unit. For more details please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you
