Rated 5 out of 5 by from great inexpensive way to keep your horse dry I previously purchased the 10' high run-in shelter and loved it. I am in a high wind and snow area. I was concerned it would blow over with the winds or collapse in the snow. The first really strong winds came and I was up and down all night worried about it. It held up just fine. I used augers on every leg. Next came the snow and once again I was up and down all night but it did great. I was so impressed with it, I bought a second one, the 8' shelter. I am very happy with both of them. The horses had no problem going in the shelter. As we installed, they walked through and were very curious. When finished, I fed inside and they were fine going right in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lasting I purchased a run in shelter 10 years ago and used it for equipment and hay storage. It was a great investment. It has stood up to the elements and hurricane Sandy!! Sadly I need a replacement cover and an end leg because our horse thought it was a hay buffet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product for a Good Price Bottom line, this run in shed seems quite sturdy and I believe it will last for several years. We were conflicted between this run in shed and a similar sized Land Owner series garage in a box on sale at TSC. I called ShelterLogic and asked specifically what were the material differences were between the two. The representative told me they used a thicker cover (9 mil) and heavier poles in this product. This shed is also designed with lower profile bolts so the horses don't hurt themselves. The shed arrived in three separate boxes, which made moving the shed easier. It also made accounting for all the pieces simpler. The directions weren't in any of the boxes when they arrived. They are available on line from ShelterLogic's website There are alternate directions on a forum for similar structures (with pictures) which work much better. Just make sure you install the horizontal poles when you assemble the top part of the shed. I hope that makes sense once you start putting it together. It took us the better part of 6 hours to fully assemble, sink the augers and secure the shed. We did pick up another 4 pack of 30" augers. The corner foot covers have no way to thread the guy wire through them so secure the corner poles to your augers so I had to make a small slit in the foot covers. So far the shelter has survived several severe thunder storms and lots of high winds (35-50 kts) in the 2 months we've owned it with no apparent wear on the frame or cover. I was concerned about the shelter blowing over/away, hence the purchase of extra augers. I'd strongly recommend them just to be on the safe side. The cover does have about a 3 inch tear in the side from a horse who likes to chew things

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a lot of common sence the lack of instructions "suck" you got different size bolts, pipes and other pieces, you have to sort out all the pieces then use a lot of common sense, once you got all that it's just repeating each step, but note the first two arches are the key pieces with the 3 different size pipes and angle pieces, the tarp is a guessing game on how tight it should be, me first I let it lose then next day over tighten it for about an hour then I loosened the lower pipes and let it find it own relaxed position and then set the ratchet pieces till it felt about right, the screw down anchors, again common sense to use the only holes left and put the cables on after you got the tarp is in place it's just easier and the little rubber pieces is for the end on the bolts so the horse doesn't get hurt. With all that said I like it and at the farm we are at there will soon be a 2nd one, with more to follow, after all the first one was the hardest, now that I know how to do it and save time the rest will be easy. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good structure for the price I just received this today, I like the product but the instructions are not helpful I need step by step and can't find them anywhere .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good short term I have had a few of these shelters over the years. The quality of the Steel frame has improved over time. The tarp cover however, does not tolerate hot sun well and easily rips along top center poles and anywhere there is contact with metal. No improvements in the material cover. Still need grommets where you break through to attach front roll up door on one of the models. Have had to replace several times and they are almost as expensive as the entire kit. Have purchased my last one while I build a small barn.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Huge pain This thing took two full afternoons to put together. Some necessary parts weren't included, like rope and small stakes, the poles barely fit together, the big stakes are near impossible to get in the (soft) ground, and the numbering for the parts was off. The instructions were horrible - the diagrams were hard to read, they skipped a few steps that we had to figure out on our own, and they weren't even included in the box. The tarp gets super hot as well, so I don't even know if the horses will want to stand under it. We'll see.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from More work than necessary First of all the Instructions are not up to par. Most important is that the pipes would not fit together, the inside of all the holes on one side of the pipes had to be deburred by hand which added more work than necessary. When they were drilled only the outside of the exit holes on the exterior of the pipes were deburred at the factory.

Is there an option to purchase without the tarp? I'd want to use for summer desert shade and use a military net canopy instead to allow wind and rain through.

If the polyethylene cover rips, is there a repair procedure you can recommend?

Asked by: Philippe
Hello Philippe, We have heard from other customers that if their cover had a large tear you may be able to patch it with another piece of polyethylene and 3M spray adhesive # 90 or you can use may use Tear-Aid type A which is a transparent fabric repair. For smaller rips you can use heavy-duty duct tape. We do offer replacement covers for our shelters and this would be the best solution. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you
