Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mounting the sail I put the 12'x12' sail up on mounts that were about 16'x16'. I used heavy duty bungie straps, instead of the mounting hardware that came with the sail, to see how it would look. Turns out the bungie straps worked real well and pulled the sail real tight. I think I may leave it that way. I am really very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Colors! These are well made. I bought two of them, they each had a seam a few feet from one end. I cut the seams and sewed the two large parts together with marine grade upholstery thread, yielding one sail 16' x 25'. Finally, i ran 1/4" wire rope thru the inside of the perimeter seam, completely around the circumference of the sail, using a cable lacing tool and sewed an additional layer of thread around that. I installed them with 1" x 16" turnbuckles connected to telephone poles and 2 7/8" drill pipe. I backed up the poles and pipe with railroad ties buried and cemented about three or four feet deep. The wind can blow 50-60 MPH, has no effect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and effective This product stands up to the ridiculous high winds and unrelenting heat and light in the Mojave Desert. We use them for extra shade in our horse corral.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product This is a great product and value. Comes with a good assortment of hardware. These were bought to replace and add to existing area . One of the originals wore thru the fabric (after 3 years) due to contact with hardware from rubbing. Be sure you have a plan layer out before you buy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! Excellent product. I live in Orlando, Florida. I originally purchased this sail 2 years ago to help cut down the heat. Our back yard has a lot of pavement and the summmer heat is to much for the plants and us. I now own a total of 5 sails in different colors. they hold up well. You can't go wrong. Thanks shelter logic!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shady Easy to set up & does what it's suppose to do. Very simple to install.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality material and workmanship The sun shade sail is well made. Material is high quality. The connections and hardware are good. Installation is fairly easy and straightforward. The main complained that I face is we get a lot of rain in Maine. The sail doesn't allow the rain water to pass through the material quickly enough so the added weight of the water stretches the material or the ropes that attach it to the post. So I need to keep to retighten them periodically.

Questions & Answers

Hi...wondering about how fade resistant the fabric is over time. Particularly the lime green color. Many thanks.

Asked by: poodlgal2
Hello, This product may fade over time. The duration and intensity of the sun exposure will all play a role in how long it takes before you see a noticeable difference. To discuss in more detail please give us a call at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you

Do you sell poles for the sunshades? I was not able to locate them on your site.

Asked by: Crunch
I recently purchased 1 1/4" diameter galvanized pipe by 10ft length from Lowe's and drilled a hole at the top and installed an eye bolt for my connection point. I was able to attach this 10ft pole to my wooden deck using hardware also found at Lowe's.

If installing a 16x16 on 4 posts, what overall dimension would one use? I assume for 16x16 you'd need to have your posts at 17.5' or 18' square to allow for the hardware...

Asked by: EricW
Hello, We would recommend at least an extra foot to allow for proper pensioning. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please feel free to start a live chat or call us at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you

How would you Anchor the sail to brick  As we have a 16x16 deck.

Asked by: Alexa
Hi Alexa, The basic hardware kit that is included does not include a connection for brick. Since the shade sail has a ring in each cover you would have to attach something to the brick and then use the rope to attach the shade sail. Thank you

What is the difference between the regular and heavyweight model

Asked by: Lindsay
Hi Lindsay, The GSM on the lighter option is 160 compared to the heavy weight option which is 230. The GSM refers to grams per square meter and how tight the weave is. Thank you
