Assembly Manual

Starting off square and level is essential to a successful shed assembly and we recommend that you consider a base kit to self-square the shed and help level the site. Base kits are available for the majority of Arrow sheds. The base kit must be assembled with your selected floor finishing option before you start to build your shed. Use the flooring material that best suits your needs, such as wood, patio blocks, or gravel. The base kit may also be used as a form for pouring concrete. Find the base kit size for your shed.

This is unit is not compatible with EZEE Shed models.

  • The Arrow base kit is made of durable hot-dipped electro-galvanized steel
  • Keeps building and stored items off the ground
  • Easy to install
  • Includes all hardware
  • Does not include floor all finishing materials (If finishing with wood flooring, use exterior-grade plywood, measured to base kit dimensions.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from instructions need review; flimsy; easy assembly Super easy to assemble. Light weight.. it was too big and floppy, to flip it over alone, so I had to elevate it and slither on my back, in order to put the screws in on the bottom side. My only complaints are as follows: 1) this base is not strong enough to support weight, unless it has support under every joint. our shed had to be elevated because of water. That was very difficult to do, while keeping the shed floor level on uneven ground. (Although, I’m a novice, and this was my first shed). It bent in a few places, which we rigged with random bricks, and a lot of extra screws. 2) I don’t remember exactly what the instructions said (we put it together 6+ months ago), but the floor/ floor frame and shed frame were an issue. the instructions, and every associate I spoke with, said that the floor frame was supposed to go INSIDE the shed, and then the plywood ontop. I know I’m a novice, but I’m no dummy. There was NO WAY that floor frame would go inside… it was the exact same size as the shed. So we had to assemble the shed ontop of the frame. Thankfully we hadn’t assembled the shed yet. So, order of assembly should actually be: First the floor frame, then plywood ontop of the floor frame, then the floor-shed frame (to attach the two), was assembled and mounted to the plywood… THEN we built the shed ontop of that. Hope this helps!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 8x10 base kit Pieced come together nicely and made a nice square frame for my shed. The only issue I had was that all the pieces are made the same size so when you have to slide one into the other it causes a bulge and makes it so the holes don't want to line up the best and the joint bulges.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanted the 5x7 but it is no longer made. I was trying to get the base kit for a 5x7 which apparently is not made any more or not available. I had to improvise a solution using the existing and cutting up the 5x4 to replace the existing base that had rusted out.

Questions & Answers

If I use this base kit, for your 6x8 shed, with 3/4 inch plywood on top, what's the max weight I could put inside? Want to store my motorcycle inside, which weighs roughly 860lbs.

Asked by: MikeMike
Hello Mike, Thank you for your question. It's 500 pounds Evenly Distributed. If storing a motorcycle, you will need to build a Wood Deck or pour concrete. If you have any other questions or wish to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-851-1085 (press 1). Thank you

what is the dimensions for a plywood base for a 6ft x 5ft ezee metal shed

Asked by: steveo
Hello, Per the assembly instructions, the suggested wood/concrete base for this shed is listed as 68 1/2" x 56 1/2". Please note that the platform should be level and flat (free of bumps, ridges etc.) to provide good support for the building and Pressure Treated Lumber must not be used where it will make contact with your storage building. If you would like to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to call us at 1-800-851-1085 (press 1). Thank you

For a 10x6 shed, have 2 questions for FDN106 base: does every inch of base frame perimeter have to be supported by blocks and the load limit for entire Plywood floor on base is 200-300 lbs? Will you have the FDN106 in stock in near future?

Asked by: Mike1222
Hello, There are several options for constructing the base, such as wood, gravel, and pouring concrete. Whichever choice you decide to construct the base with, the whole base kit perimeter must be fully supported because the platform needs to be level and flat (free of bumps, ridges, etc.) to provide good support for the building once you start to erect it. As for replenishment details, please call in at 1-800-851-1085 (press 1). Thank you

Will this base kit work with your Commander series sheds with swinging doors?

Asked by: Jim the golfer
Hi Jim, This base kit is not compatible with our Commander series. We suggest pouring a concrete slab for that model. If you have any additional questions please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-851-1085 (press 1).
