An AutoShelter is Easy to Maintain
Maintaining an AutoShelter is simple with consistent inspections and quarterly maintenance. Sometimes, an AutoShelter frame can appear to be in good condition but may not be ready for a harsh winter. There are specific ways to ensure your AutoShelter lasts season after season.
One of the easiest maintenance tips is to keep tabs on an AutoShelter cover to ensure the perfect fit. The cover should be snug, but not too tight. If you notice any sagging, the cover is too loose. If you notice there is strain on the ribs, it may be too tight.
To maintain the perfect AutoShelter cover fit, follow these two steps:
- Loosen the clamps of the sliding cross rails and simply pull the cover to the desired area, then retighten the cross rails.
- Find the ratchet that connects the cover rail to the ratchet rail, and click the ratchet until the cover reaches its desired tightness.
Additionally, debris like fallen branches, leaves, and pooling water should always be removed from your AutoShelter as soon as possible. However, you can do damage to your AutoShelter if you don’t remove debris carefully. Use these tips to clear debris without causing damage to the structure.
Don't use a sharp object: When removing debris from your AutoShelter, avoid using rakes or shovels, which could puncture the cover. Instead, try a broom, a mop, or even your hands to carefully push debris or pooling water off the roof.
Don't remove snow from the inside: It may seem easier to push a larger amount of snow off the roof while you’re inside the unit. However, this could puncture the fabric. It’s safer to use a soft sided tool or a broom while you are outside of the building to gently remove snow.
Replacing Your AutoShelter Cover
Portable garages like the Shelter Logic AutoShelter are built with strength and durability in mind to keep your belongings safe season after season. While heavy-duty portable garages like the AutoShelter are engineered to stand up to the elements year-round, inclement weather and natural wear and tear can take a toll eventually.
Instead of purchasing an entirely new structure, a ShelterLogic replacement cover can breathe new life into your AutoShelter without breaking the bank. Additionally, when purchasing a new cover from ShelterLogic, it will extend the warranty of your AutoShelter unit. This additional perk will protect your purchase and extend the life of your shelter.
The process to order a replacement cover for your AutoShelter is easy:
- Find your cover number: The corresponding cover number is generally located on a white tag or sticker on the interior of the cover.
- Enter your cover number: Once you find the cover number, enter the reorder part number on this page. Make sure the number you found is on the cover itself, and not on any other part of the structure like the back panels.
- Decide which cover to purchase: There are a variety of different choices when it comes to replacing the cover on your garage. Decide on which weights and strengths work best for your needs, including standard, heavy duty, and ultra duty covers.
